Mr. Deacon likes to find bugs. He likes to point at them, yell at them, stomp on them, then bring them to me. Not so much fun for me. The stuff he's starting to say is really funny. For some reason, no means yes now. Bananas are now "appies" and he says "why" with his little hands up. He says "where" like a New Yorker for some reason, which always makes me laugh. I'm Mommy, Momma, or Mamoo. Jon is Daddy or Jon. Heh. I can't believe he will be two in almost two months. That's just crazy. Crazy, crazy, crazy. Here are some pictures from last week.
He loves trucks, tractors, and airplanes.
He's still a little too short, but he wanted to try.
He wanted to wear the helmet.

Bug hunting. This is the bring it to Mommy part.
So cute and smiley.

Well, we had a pretty good 4th of July. Jon and I were both off, so that was nice. We played in the pool, grilled hotdogs, and ate lots of cookies and brownies. Then we went to my grandmother's house near lake Apopka to watch Winter Garden's fireworks. Deacon had fun playing with his little cousins. He had a nasty fall on the driveway and scraped his face up. His lip was swollen and he also scraped his knees and hand. Poor little guy. That pretty much put him in a bad mood for the fireworks. No nap probably didn't help much either. While Deacon was busy using his face to clean the driveway, I stabbed my hand with a knife inside. Just a little stab, but the blood splattered on the stove, wall, counter, and cabinets. It looked way worse than it was. The highlight of the accidental stabbing was my mom handing me a relish covered towel to stop the bleeding. Nice.
The fireworks were nice, but we were super tired. It was a looong day. We had our own fireworks show in my parents' driveway. Deacon was so tired after all that, he went right to sleep. Yay.
Here are some pictures from 4th of July and some from the end of June!
I'm not sure why, but he doesn't like to use the door. He likes to climb. Just a little bit.
Still trying to get in the car.
Still trying. Almost there.
Finally!
Now it's time to get out.
Still doing things the hard way.
The stubborn face.
The lip bite. The face of concentration.
