He was a pumpkin his first Halloween. Clearly, he was excited.

He was just as excited about Thanksgiving.

Here he is on his first 4-wheeler ride.

His first fight. He beat this thing up for about half an hour.

His first shoulder ride with Daddy. It didn't really work out.

This was after his first trip to the emergency room. He woke up with a fever of 104. They did some blood work, gave him an IV, inserted a catheter, and made him pretty miserable. They said it was probably some sort of infection and sent us home.

The next morning he woke up with his eyelid swollen shut. We took him to see his doctor, who sent him to the hospital to be monitored for meningitis. He was so sad to see in the ugly metal hospital crib. Because it was so close to Christmas (four days before) some older ladies were handing out handmade blankets to the kids in the hospital. They picked a blue one with trains for Deacon, which was really nice. He was there for three days. Thankfully, everything was just fine.

This was him leaving the hospital. Already feeling much better.

Back to his lazy ways for his first Christmas parade.

His first smile. We were so freaking excited to have gotten a picture of it.

His first Christmas.

He seemed to be very happy with what Santa brought him.

The first time eating cereal. He loved it.

First Valentine's Day.

The first sad face picture. It took FOREVER to get this one.

His first Easter.

First time on (in?) a swing. He loves, loves, loves to swing.

First tattoo (thanks to my parents and his Aunt Alicia).

This one always makes me smile. This was the first time Jon had gotten Deacon dressed and just the two of them went somewhere. Jon was also wearing a Dolphins shirt and a gray hoodie.

This was the second time he sat up. The first picture turned into a falling over action shot.

He's so patriotic.

This was one of the first times he stood up. This was back when the house didn't get trashed by him every day. Ahhhh.....

His first birthday came way too fast. It was a really fun day and he totally loved his cake.
