Mother's Day Weekend

Well, we started off our weekend by driving to the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. The drive wasn't too bad (about an hour and a half). It was crowded for the first couple hours, but after lunch all the field trip kids went home. Jon really liked the rhinos. We had to stare at them for at least 20 minutes. Deacon seemed to love everything. Once the crowd left, he walked everywhere. He loved petting the goats. He actually just pointed at them (with his middle finger). One of the goats really seemed to like Jon, because it kept licking his arm. I think my favorite part was the aquatic center.

Saturday we spent the day outside. Our air-conditioner was broken, so it was a little cooler outside than in the house. We got some sun, played in the baby pool, and that was about it. I went back to work on Sunday, but we took Deacon to the park in the morning (still no a/c at home). He ran and ran all over the place. We had a good time. A lady at work brought in the best cake I've ever had. Seriously, it was really good (banana cake). I'm afraid to ask for the recipe. I would have banana cake for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

P.s. The air-conditioner is working again! I can't wait to go home and not sweat!

I'm not sure what these monkeys were doing. There were plenty of places where they could have gotten shade. I guess they just like their bags.

It took us a while to figure out if these were real or fake. They were real.

I loved this little guy. All of the other meerkats were playing around and he just stared at us.

He tried to climb every fence.

Cute little turtles.

These were all in the aquatic center, which was awesome!

The stingrays were really cool too. We had a good time with them. We made a friend with a giant one. He followed us all around the pool.

The last two are of Jon and Deacon running for the rhinos. As you can see, Jon was very serious about the rhinos. We had to stare at them forever. We even have a three minute video of a rhino going to the bathroom. Jon thought it was the funniest thing ever (because he's four).

Deacon meets some goats.

Deacon got a little too close to goat butt here.

This goat really liked Jon.

This is Deacon pointing a goat. He doesn't pet, he points. I'm not sure why.

This was just before he tried to ride the goat.

More goat pointing.

He was so tired.

Deacon running at the park.

More running.

Still running.

There was a spider in the tree. Apparently, I was really confused.

hahahaha
